About Us

The Josephmaren Peace Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote an innovative, values-based approach to Peacebuilding and Counselling guided by the belief that God is the ultimate in addressing the problems of mankind. Founded in 2008 by Joseph Maren Sampson as Reconciliation Trainers Africa (RETA), the organization originally was involved in peace and reconciliation activities. We are working in communities on conflict prevention, community peacebuilding and peace advocacy.

Where we work

Plateau, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Benue, Abuja. We work to serve communities in Nigeria to build a model for peace, counselling, social and spiritual development.

Aims

Projects

Education for Orphans

Our education for orphans, crisis victims and the less privileged children project is provided through partnership with Victoriapeace International College, Hurti in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria. We provide school supplies, uniforms, meals and support to help children remain and succeed in school.

Local Community Peace Project (LCPP)

The Local Community Peace Project (LCPP) provides training; peace awareness campaigns; trauma counseling; negotiation and reconciliation initiatives in crisis communities. Through our "Building Bridges" approach, JPF Local Peace Volunteers are trained to work in communities to reduce violence and create healthy communities.
